01  The sweep-and-lock mechanic

A needle sweeps around a radial dial at a steady speed, and somewhere on that dial sits a highlighted target arc. Tap the screen, click, or press the Space bar to lock the needle in place. The closer the needle stops to the exact centre of the target, the higher your accuracy for that round. Clip the edge and you still survive; overshoot the arc entirely and it's a miss — and a miss ends the run. There are no lives and no second chances.

Every round after the first gets harder on two axes at once: the target arc grows narrower and the sweep gets faster. A lock that felt relaxed in round two becomes genuinely tight by round ten. Runs are capped at twenty rounds, so surviving all the way to the cap is a perfect, full-length drop.

Every drop shares that shrink-and-quicken shape, but no two days feel quite the same. Along with the target positions, the seed sets each day's own difficulty character — how fast the sweep ends up (its pace, from steady to twitchy) and how tight the final target closes (its grip, from forgiving to surgical). One day might be a slow, sliver-thin "surgical" drop that punishes a rushed tap; the next a fast "twitchy" one where keeping up with the needle is the whole battle. Round one is always the same gentle warm-up, so nobody is ambushed at the start; the character reveals itself as the run climbs. The deep rounds hold one more twist: the pivot round. On a pivot round the needle stops circling the dial. It gets caught inside a marked bounce corridor — two violet bumpers with a dashed rail between them — and reflects off each bumper, sweeping back and forth instead of round and round. The target still sits inside that corridor, so the round is always winnable, but it arrives from alternating sides and the tempo you spent five rounds building suddenly stops matching. The run HUD flags the round as PIVOT the moment it starts. Each day seeds one to three of them, never before round six and never two in a row: the first always lands somewhere between rounds six and ten, so a decent run really does meet one. The home screen tells you how many are waiting before you tap in.

Your headline number is a precision % — the average accuracy across every lock you landed, from 0 to 100. Because it's an average, one sloppy-but-surviving tap drags it down more than a single clean hit lifts it, so a strong score comes from being consistently tidy rather than occasionally perfect. Anything in the high eighties across a long run is genuinely good. The "top X% today" figure sits next to it and firms up as the day goes on: early after the 00:00 UTC reset only a handful of people have played, so the percentile is noisy; by mid-day it settles into a fair read of where you stand.

02  Timing tips for a cleaner run

• Anticipate, don't react. The needle moves at a constant speed, so lock a hair before it reaches the centre — reaction time means a tap you start "on centre" usually lands late.
• Find the rhythm early. The opening rounds are slow enough to internalise the sweep's tempo. Lock into that beat and let it carry you into the faster rounds.
• On a pivot round, wait for the turn. The needle has to reach a bumper and come back, so pick the bumper nearer the target and lock on the return leg — the moment after a bounce is the most predictable window on the whole dial.
• Survive first, perfect second. A dead-centre lock and a barely-inside lock both keep you alive. When a round looks impossible, prioritise staying in the run over chasing a perfect hit.
• Pick one input and stick with it. A trackpad tap, a mouse click, and the Space bar all register instantly — but consistent timing comes from using the same one every round.
